NECEP is a unique educational programme that offers comprehensive hands-on and practical training in cardiology. Held in Gateshead this was a one-day angiography and vascular access course which we were delighted to join as supporters.
The day was an incredible learning opportunity for ST4 to ST8, with talks throughout the day teaching basic angiography, complimentary imaging, top tips, and anatomy anomalies.
We brought the Mentice VIST G7 to complement the presentations with a practical hands-on session for the students that we could run throughout the day. Using the basic cardiology module students could run simulations of angiography of the left and right side of the heart and interrogate for images of lesions – all within the safe, educational space of the course.
We had the fantastic opportunity to meet the future Interventional Cardiologists of the NE whilst showcasing the opportunities that Mentice and our group can bring to an educational setting.
