January 25th saw our impactful series launch at Morriston Hospital, Swansea where our team presented an Impactful Speaking workshop. Aimed at a diverse audience of Allied Health professionals (AHPs) including radiographers, nurses, and physiologists, the workshop aimed to empower participants to communicate effectively and confidently in professional settings.
This initiative stemmed from discussions following an AHP educational meeting held in Wales last year, where the need to support presenters in feeling more at ease during such events was identified. Drawing from the recommendation of a faculty member who had previously attended one of our presenter courses, the team curated a comprehensive program designed to enhance various aspects of communication.
The workshop covered elements such as pace, volume, tone, pause, body language and the subtle nuances that create a commanding presence. As well as topics like vulnerability, empathy and integrity which were also covered.
Throughout the day participants engaged in activities, received constructive feedback and participated in group discussions aimed at fostering understanding and empathy. The ultimate goal was to bolster their confidence in public speaking, enabling them to excel not only in presentations but also in meetings and other professional responsibilities.
Our impactful speaking workshop serves as a unique platform for individuals to embark on a journey of personal and professional growth. By nurturing their communication skills and boosting their self-assurance we strive to empower every participant to become effective communicators in their respective fields.
